Discuss your request with the teacher four weeks before the letter needs to be mailed
Ask the teacher if they feel they can write you a positive recommendation. (Some
teachers are asked to write as many as 70 letters. They need adequate time to write
recommendations).
Give the teacher a type written resume of all high school activities.
Give the teacher a preaddressed stamped envelope.
