Arundel "Little Wildcats" Preschool

Registration begins on April 9th, 2012

Registration Form

Registration begins on April 9th, 2012.  Spaces fill up quickly.   The application is parent and contact information and information that you complete specific to your child's abilities and any concerns that you may have.  In addition, we need a current vaccination record signed by your child's doctor and a $35 non-refundable deposit.  This $35 deposit will be taken off of the balance of the fee for the whole year which is $70.  The other $35 will be due in the fall at orientation (in early October). 
As long as all criteria is met, preschoolers are accepted into the program on a first-come basis, with preference to all current students and their siblings. 
Some of the criteria:

  • preschooler must be at least 3 years- 6 months old by October 2012
  • preschooler must be toilet-trained and able to separate from parent or caregiver for an extended time

Preschool does not start until mid-October and we have 2 sessions.  The hours for the morning session are approx:  7:45-10:00.  The hours for the afternoon session are approx. 11:30-1:30.

Basic Information
Teachers: Mrs. Susan Stawas and Ms.Lea Jaspers and the high school students enrolled in Child Development One, Two and Three.

Applications can be picked up in the main office of Arundel High School.  Please do not drop off the paper work before April 9.  When your application is turned in, you will be contacted about your child’s status.  We accept children based on a first come, first serve basis.  We have room for 20 children only, when we reach our maximum number we will begin a waiting list.

Age Requirement

Children must be at least 3 and ½ years old by October and they must be potty trained.

Preschool days and hours

    1. Begins late October and Ends early May.  Note: There will be no preschool during most of January and part of February due to high school testing and the start of second semester.
    2. Preschool will run Tuesday through Friday. 
    3. AM:  7:45-10:00
    4. PM:  11:30-1:30

Transportation

Transportation must be provided by the parent or caregiver.  We do   not provide buses or any other form of transportation.

Fees

$70 nonrefundable fee per year.

Food
Each child is asked to bring a snack daily.  Snack time is only 10 minutes, so please only send one item of food and one drink.Please make the snack healthy! A new wellness plan is in effect in all AACPS schools that we are required to implement.

Special Occasions
Halloween
The children are asked to dress up in their favorite costume.  We will have a holiday party and go trick or treating.

Christmas
Santa will make an appearance at our holiday party.
           
End of Year Fair/ Field Day
In the spring the child development classes plan a field day.  There will be games and prizes, food, face painting, relay races, balloons, and many more fun activities!

Field Trip to the Baltimore Zoo
Near the end of the school year, we will take a field trip to the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.  It is a great learning experience for the preschoolers that they will love!

Graduation
We will invite parents to come watch the graduation ceremony for all future kindergarteners.
