Social Studies Vision Statement
The Social Studies Department of Arundel High School fosters student learning through engaging and relevant lessons and content, caring about the individual student, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning.  Each teacher embodies a love for his/her content, and that feeling is conveyed through daily instruction; the teacher’s excitement is contagious and leads to greater student learning.  In order to create more effective instruction the teachers work collaboratively while planning, teaching and assessing for learning.  Teachers meet the needs of all learners by incorporating differentiated instruction, reading strategies, and rigorous student centered activities.  The Social Studies teachers work with students, parents, administrators, other departments, and school counselors to ensure that students are learning, progressing, and achieving at the appropriate levels.
